Salary £40,000 - £55,000 Pa Depending On Experience

Are you currently in a technical niche that lacks room for the innovation or systems thinking needed to improve our world for the better? Do you want to move beyond technical design or analysis and take responsibility for solving broader systems problems and developing technology strategy and policy?

Our growing Technology Management group is seeking to recruit consultants with the ability to synthesise high-level perspectives and detail, a deep knowledge of technology development and innovation lifecycles, and a proven ability to think and communicate clearly. You will support our clients to enable greater performance, protect their business operations, and to drive for a more sustainable world. We would anticipate that you have an engineering or physical science degree and some existing professional experience in industry, utilities or another consultancy; although would be very interested in candidates who have come to technology strategy consultancy by another route.

At Frazer-Nash we pride ourselves in using cutting edge systems engineering methods to help our clients solve their high value technical problems. We are therefore looking to complement our expert team with consultants who bring experience of providing guidance and support in the development of exciting new innovations and technology.

We are looking for engineers or scientists who could be responsible for :

  • Supporting technology horizon scanning across a variety of industries and sectors.
  • Undertaking concept studies, options assessment, and investment decisions.
  • Applying of systems engineering tools and techniques.
  • Supporting owners and operators throughout their assets lifecycle.
  • Expanding knowledge of leading-edge technologies, through literature studies and research.
  • Transferring experience from across a variety of sectors and industries.
  • Managing programmes of research and innovation.
  • Providing governance, oversight and advice on best practice in innovation projects.

Requirements

  • The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Possess a good degree in Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Have an interest in and an understanding of current and future clean energy systems
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with excellent customer-facing skills.
  • Be a strong team player but with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • A proactive personality.

It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

  • Previous experience in the design and analysis of clean energy systems.
  • Experience of working with owners and operators of engineered assets across their lifecycle.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience of using structured futures assessment methods.
  • Ability to translate systems engineering practices from one industry to another.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-­Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
