NES Fircroft is currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Design Engineer, with experience within the design & development of Subsea Intervention Equipment / Open Water Installation Riser Systems.
Based in Aberdeen, you will join the team on an initial 6 month contract basis and we are looking for an individual to start around June / July time.
Some key responsibilities are detailed below:
Interpreting customer technical specifications, organising and leading the design reviews ensuring that all customer requirements, technical risks and past lessons learned are properly capture
Understanding and applying design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling and welding processes to ensure designs are suitable and allow for efficient manufacture and assembly
Creating work packs for delegation, review & release detail drawings, test procedures, calculation packages and installation manuals
Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: Tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, calculation packages for 3rd party verification purposes
Implement project & product cost controlDesired skillset:
Prior knowledge of Open Water Riser Systems / Subsea Christmas Tree systems
Prior knowledge of relevant industry specifications (API, ISO, NORSOK, NACE)
