CCS Consulting Ltd is an established and growing Civil and Structural Engineering practice with offices in Manchester, Leeds and London. We undertake a variety of projects of all sizes across the UK.

CCS Consulting has a proven track record of designing high quality projects throughout the UK, using up to date design and detailing software. We have BIM Level 2 capability providing fully coordinated 3D designs and use a suite of the latest industry leading civil and structural design software.

As a team-working organisation we specialise in providing innovative solutions to the benefit of all concerned and we are adept at working with complex buildings/processes including liaison with end users, project managers, statutory bodies, design teams and other stakeholders.

Our senior team members all have extensive previous experience of working within multi-national consultancy practices and are experienced in the delivery of large and technically challenging projects.

Whilst we strongly advocate the nurturing, development, and empowerment of junior staff, we believe it is of great importance that all our projects, no matter how small, also have hands on Director involvement - it really is a team effort!

The opening of our Leeds office in 2019 has been hugely successful, despite dealing with the pandemic, and we now have a strong and exciting pipeline of projects and future opportunities. We are therefore looking for the right person, with ambition to grow with us, to join our Leeds team.

Job description

This is an extremely exciting client facing opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated and reliable Structural/Senior Structural Engineer to support the ongoing expansion of our Leeds team, manage complex projects, mentor junior staff and progress their career. The successful candidate will be highly organised and have a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience of working for a consultancy within the building structures sector.

The successful candidate will work alongside the office Director, in a fun and dynamic team, to assist with the day-to-day management of the team, the running of small to large scale projects and support other Engineers within the business. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of projects from concept phase to completion, including all required client liaison, structural modelling, design team coordination, preparation /overseeing structural designs, calculations, reports, specifications and drawings.

CCS Consulting offers opportunities to gain experience in a large variety of projects in different sectors, working in an open environment alongside experienced Engineers / Directors. We will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to develop new skills and manage their own projects, whilst working to support them with their ongoing training needs and career development.

Skills and Responsibilities

• A sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and relevant design codes of practice (Eurocodes), and the ability to apply these across all projects.
• A sound knowledge of structural engineering materials, to include steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• A demonstrable experience of working on UK based projects, in accordance with UK Building Regulations and other relevant UK standards, across a range of the main industry sectors such as industrial, residential, retail, commercial and healthcare.
• The candidate must be a team player, with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the desire to work collaboratively to achieve the best results possible.
• Highly motivated, passionate and with an attention to detail.
• Essential experience of structural design software including, but not limited to, Tekla Structural Designer.
• Good knowledge of BIM, and proven track record of successfully delivering projects collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• The desire and ambition to help expand the Leeds office. This may involve representing CCS Consulting at external networking and social events.
• Relevant degree qualification - BEng/MEng Civil/Structural engineering (accredited).
• The successful candidate will be Chartered, or very near Chartered, with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
• The role will generally be office based, but the candidate will be required to travel around the UK to attend design meetings and site visits.
• Full Driving Licence preferred.
