Job Summary
The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) at the University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington) invites applicants for a Non-tenure-track faculty position in Construction Engineering and Management starting Fall 2022.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates are sought at the Assistant Professor of Instruction level with primary specialty in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
Required qualifications
The requirements are completion of a B.S. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering area or a closely related field from a U.S. institution of higher education. At least one degree must be in Civil Engineering. Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and active participation in professional service.
Preferred qualifications
Texas P.E. licensure, or the ability to obtain one within five years of joining the department, is desired but not required. Industrial, consulting, or governmental experience is preferred, but not required.

Department and College/School Information
The Civil Engineering (CE) Department houses the only state supported architectural engineering and civil engineering programs in north Texas. It also offers the only bachelor of science of its kind in construction management and master of construction management programs in North Texas. The CE Department’s enrollment has been proliferating over the last 10 years to its historical peak of 1,633 students in Fall 2021. This includes over 125 funded Ph.D. students. The CE Department’s research expenditures have also been increasing at an accelerated rate over the past 10 years with its historical peak of over $10M in FY21. The department’s robust research enterprise encompasses the areas of: construction engineering and management; environmental engineering; geotechnical engineering; infrastructure system engineering and management; structural engineering and materials; transportation engineering; and water resources engineering. In addition, the department works with many top civil engineering firms in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as well as the Texas Department of Transportation, NOAA and other government agencies.
