The candidate will be expected to work within our design team, undertaking structural designs and surveys on a diverse portfolio of domestic projects, ranging from simple internal alterations to more prestigious new dwelling developments.

The key tasks required in the role will be to:

• Commit to the company's mission statement and philosophy.
• Liaise and build rapport with clients, contractors and project architects.
• Undertake structural surveys and site inspections.
• Prepare detailed structural calculations and reports.
• Prepare detailed sketches, layouts and drawings for the required structural works.
• Review and appraise architectural drawings for the structural requirements needed.
• Support other members of the design team, in particular our graduate engineers and design technicians.
• Carry out other duties appropriate to the level of experience and grade of the post.
• Promote continuous improvement and deliver a high-quality standard of service.
• Adopt a philosophy of personal development and self-improvement.

The successful individual will:

• Have a good understanding of the technical elements of structural engineering.
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in the domestic sector.
• Be degree qualified, to a minimum level of B.Eng,
• Have professional membership of the Institute of Structural Engineers, and be working towards/or be willing to work towards chartered status.
• Have knowledge and experience in the design and detailing of all structural elements, foundations and retaining walls.
• Have a good understanding of all relevant British Standard and European design codes.
• Have an understanding of the requirements under the CDM Regulations 2015.
