Job Description: Assistant Mechanical & Energy Engineer
Location: Oxford Road, Manchester
Start Date: July 2022
Salary: £33,309 - 40,937 per annum, depending on relevant experience
Employment type: Fixed term (12 months)
Faculty/Organisation: Facilities - Maintenance and Compliance
School/ Directorate: Estates & Facilities
Hours per week: 35 hours
We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Mechanical and Energy Engineer to work within our Facilities - Maintenance and Compliance Department with our Principal Energy Engineer to assist in the energy management and conservation issues across the University of Manchester Estate
The candidate will have an established track record and experience in energy or mechanical engineering management, experience in setting and monitoring standards. They will also have experience of producing quality briefing documents to enable consulting engineers to develop design briefs that meet the University's requirements and experience of producing high quality written reports and correspondence, as well as and giving clear oral reports.
The candidate must have experience of managing and controlling budgets/resources/funding.
Be proficient in Energy legislation, Energy purchasing, Energy monitoring systems and analysis of complex data and day to day energy strategies
