Based in the heart of Suffolk, my client is a well-established Geotechnical Engineering company that specialises in contaminated land, focusing on Site Investigation, Environmental Assessments and Laboratory Analysis. Due to continued expansion within their organisation they are expanding and now have a very exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Engineer to join their team.
As a Graduate, you will be trained to undertake site monitoring, site visits, trial pitting, soil and rock logging and laboratory test scheduling. You will also be trained in the production of desk studies and factual and interpretative reports.
In addition, your daily tasks will include;
• Planning, organising, and supervising intrusive investigations
• Undertaking fieldwork
• Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data
• Preparing factual and interpretative reports
• Ensuring projects keep to budget and timescale
• Liaison with clients, consultants, and contractors
• Utilising specialist computer applications
The ideal candidate for this role will be motivated and flexible with good team working, communication, analytical, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Up to date IT skills are also essential in order to carry out the duties effectively.
And your key skills and qualifications will include;
• A BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in Geology, Civil Engineering or related fields, although other qualifications will be considered
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work alone and in a team environment
• Ability to carry out tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies
• Strong attention to detail, discipline, care and focus
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday, 9am-17:30pm with a 60 minute lunch. The salary is negotiable dependant on experience and ability. This role includes both office and site-based activities and consequently a UK driving licence will be required. A car allowance could potentially be included depending on the level of experience.
