Structural Design Engineer

We are currently dealing with an ever-growing consultancy who are looking at recruiting a Structural Design Engineer to work in there Basingstoke office to work on a range of projects covering domestic and commercial structures as well as temporary works in both the public and private sectors. Within the role you will be mentored and supported through close links with senior professionals and directors of the business, in which the company is progressing an ICE Training Scheme to aid in the development of all graduate engineers.

As the Structural Design Engineer will be supported and supervised by the Principal Engineers within the office working in close conjunction with the other regional offices undertaking such task as, but not limited to:

Design of civil and structural schemes
Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates
Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialised structural inspections
Review and checks of other schemes prepared by others
Carrying out inspections and surveys of structures and preparing reports
Undertaking feasibility / option studies
Preparation of project programmes

Job Requirements

3 + years Structural Design experience in a consultancy environment
Conversant with engineering software for example Tedds. Etabs, Midas etc
Familiar with relevant standards such as Eurocodes
Relevant Civil/Structural Engineering degree
