About the role
You will be responsible for setting the Building & Structural Engineering strategy, policies, and technical standards across the UK estate. Leading and governing the management of Building and Structural risks, whilst driving and enabling our property programmes.

You will be responsible for
  • Own the building strategy and long-term investment plan (LTP) for the estate, working closely with the Heads of Property Delivery to ensure full alignment between the strategy and delivery.
  • Own and manage a comprehensive risk register and building asset database, ensuring there are robust systems in place and the right people capability to control all risks associated with our building and structural assets.
  • Leading teams of building surveyors and structural engineers to assess the condition of our building and structures, ensure risks are mitigated with the required works feeding into the property workstreams.
  • Accountable for the effective utilisation of all internal and external UK building surveying and structural engineering requirements to manage the condition and investment in our estate.
  • Lead teams of building and structural experts that input into the scope, design and delivery of property works.
  • Accountable for setting and reviewing and updating the building standards across our UK estate.
  • Keep up to date with market thinking and current trends with links into the industry and professional bodies.
  • Innovate and drive improvements in building & safety standards that are aligned to our core purpose.
  • Ensuring that there is a comprehensive governance and assurance process to ensure property deliver is fit-for-purpose.
  • Share best practice across the Group

You will need
  • Chartered RICS Building Surveyor or Chartered IStructE / ICE Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years chartered experience
  • Degree or similar qualification in the built environment
  • Capable Property professional with significant experience of end-to-end property management
  • Experience creating and leading Building strategies
  • Knowledge of UK building standards and legislation
