Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer - Required for our client to join their growing company in their consultancy and site investigation sector. The Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer will be working in their office in Harlow, Hertfordshire. The company is multidisciplinary working on a range of projects in many sectors and industries. They are looking for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the Geo-Environmental consultancy side of the company.

Working both in office and doing the occasional site visits the successful Geo-Environmental Engineer will be conducting testing, risk assessments, contaminated land desk studies, site investigation planning, execution and reporting, remediation planning and verification reporting, landfill monitoring, CQA and waste consultancy. Supported by our in-house specialist services including geotechnical and chemical laboratories, as well as in-house drilling, coring and in-situ testing services.

Graduate Geo-environmental Engineer Position Overview

Office and site work, including testing, risk assessments, plans and reports, permit applications etc.
Ground investigations
Risk assessments and advising on remediation techniques
Engage with clients and contractors
Supervision of site investigation works including trial pitting, windowless drilling, and infiltration testing;
Preparation of desk-study and geo-environmental/geotechnical site investigation reports, including liaison with Clients and Regulators;
Implementation of environmental monitoring programmes at quarries, landfills and development sites;
A strong focus on Quality and Health & Safety

Graduate Geo-environmental Engineer Position Requirements

BEng or BSc in in Earth Sciences or Environmental Engineering
Strong IT capabilities, including use of Office suite;
Enthusiasm and stamina for outdoor working and a willingness to learn new skills in support of career progression;
Knowledge of logging soils to BS5930 and HoleBASE geological logging software;
Membership of a relevant professional body, such as Geol Soc. or CIWEM
The ability to work effectively, either alone or within a team;
Full clean driving licence -but some fieldwork may involve driving significant distances.
Knowledge of legislation in relation to risk assessments
There will also be a requirement for some early starts and occasional weekend working
