Job Details
This position will manage and coordinate the district’s cost estimating program to ensure projects are appropriately estimated in the highway construction program and updated to reflect changing conditions. This position also coordinates District 4 efforts to provide bicycle and pedestrian facilities to address safety, efficiency, and mobility of non-motorized travelers.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide scoping cost estimates for projects in the highway construction program. Prepare and document construction project cost estimates to ensure consistent and accurate estimates prior to project lettings Assist in the development of District Plans, for Project Management and District Leadership and their cooperating agencies, to deliver a unified message of project delivery Is the District representative on statewide committees for cost estimating Coordinates with project managers to complete the district Major Highway Projects Report Bicycle and pedestrian coordinator for District 4 and the liaison for regional partners

Detroit Lakes has 412 lakes within a 25-mile radius with a public sand beach and is only 40 minutes to Fargo/Moorhead. You’ll find year-round recreation including skiing, fishing, bird watching, hiking, biking, skating, mountain biking, snowmobiling, boating and 8 area golf courses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Engineer Graduate 2 Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or its equivalency as rated by NCEES/EAC. A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Two years post-graduation civil engineering work.
OR
- A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or it’s equivalency as rated by NCEES/EAC AND One (1) year of post-graduate civil engineering work.
Engineer Senior Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).
