Structural Engineer

Are you a Structural Engineer circa 2 to 5 years experience in the industry looking to join a Midlands team based in Leicester City Centre working within a variety of exciting building sectors?

The Structural Engineer will be working for a UK Wide Consultancy, which operate within the Civil and Structural Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join a fast growing company to work on a range of projects within a Multi-Disciplinary Environment.

The Ideal Structural Engineer will preferably have 2-5 Year's experience within a Structural Engineering Consultancy environment. The Structural Engineer will have a good working knowledge of construction methods, materials and building regulations.

The Structural Engineer will be working on large contracts as well as Structural reports / calculations and Designs. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects and tasks, with moderate supervision, to ensure the project is delivered within agreed budget and programme.

Structural Engineer Position Overview

• Produce design calculations
• Preparation of sketch plans, working drawings, specifications and reports
• Assist with planning site investigation works
• Preparing feasibility studies and providing design advice
• Development and use of computer-based systems to improve efficiency
• Undertake site inspection and attend site meetings
• Produce designs, assessments and calculations in accordance with quality procedures
• Liaise effectively with clients, other design team members and third parties
• Communicating with the client, other consultants and colleagues in the delivery of projects whilst maintaining a positive client relationship
• Understand and adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures
• Work within the given programme and cost constraints

Structural Engineer Position Requirements

• Degree within a Civil or Structural Engineering Discipline
• Working knowledge of SCIA and Tekla Building Designer
• Conversant in designing to British Standards/UK version of Eurocodes
• Understanding of CDM regulations and the responsibilities of a designer
• Conversant in designing structures in concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry
• Understanding of engineering principles
• Able to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elements
• Good interpersonal skills

Structural Engineer Position Remuneration

• £28,000 - £45,000 DOE
