Allen Gordon LLP is an independent civil and structural engineering consultancy providing design services to a wide variety of public and private sector clients across Scotland. Founded over 50 years ago, the firm operates from offices in Inverness, Perth and Stirling.
Job Role:
We are currently looking for a Principal Structural Engineer / Associate Designate for our busy head office in Perth where you would lead our experienced teams in the delivery of a wide range of exciting structural engineering projects in the domestic, industrial and commercial sectors.
You will be a key member of the senior management team at Allen Gordon LLP, supporting the Partners in the management and development of the business. The role comes with strong prospects of progression to Partner level.

Key Responsibilities:
- Working with the Partners and other senior staff to manage and develop the business.
- Providing technical leadership across a range of projects.
- Managing a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the satisfactory delivery of projects.
- Liaising with clients to develop strong, long-term relationships.
- Providing mentoring and guidance to your team, supporting their development goals.
- Showing a strong commitment to your own professional development and career goals.
- Financial management and control across your portfolio of projects.
- Supporting the Partners and others in preparing proposals and bids.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline, preferably MEng or BEng at 2:1 or above.
- Chartered Engineer.
- SER Certifier, or able to achieve that status within 12 months.
- Background in civil engineering consultancy with a minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Strong technical skills with proven competence across a wide variety of projects.
- Proven experience in the management of teams of engineers and technicians.
- The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
