Senior Civil Engineer (Highway Design), Swindon, South West

What the job entails:- Advise on commercial bids and tenders- Use of AutoCAD and Civils 3D (or MX) to produce 2D highway layouts and 3D engineering designs - Preparation of design documentation for highway design (S38/S278) both preliminary and detailed & drainage design.- Production and checking of drawings (AutoCAD)- Communication with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders- Conduct any liaison or consultation with statutory authorities or undertakers as necessary to implement the design and construction of the project- Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to budget- Support junior staff with their training and development- Check output produced by other staff in terms of reports/drawings etc.

Essential Requirements:- Minimum 5 years' experience experience in the preparation of highway design (including S278 and S38 technical submissions and residential layouts) preferably in the consultancy field- Must be able to interpret the DMRB and local highway standards - Must be able to develop designs from conceptual layouts through to construction issue- Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English- Degree (2:1) in Civil Engineering - Be working towards Chartered Status (ICE)
