Our client is an independent renewable energy project developer. Over the past 5 years, they have successfully delivered over 100MWs of peaking energy generating facilities and battery storage solutions in the UK.

Due to sustained growth, they are looking to recruit a graduate engineer to help with managing designs and electrical calculations for Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects as well as support with technical and administrative workloads of the project management team.

The client can offer flexible home-working arrangements alongside weekly visits to their office in central London.

Responsibilities

Work in a collaborative team to achieve a broad array of technical milestones for solar PV and battery storage projects in the UK for the entire project development life ycle.
Liaise with National Grid/DNO's to understand grid connection availability and constraints.
Provide technical input for grid connection applications.
Use AutoCAD to draft layouts, elevations, and single line diagrams for solar and energy storage projects.
Provide project management and administrative support with various project management and collaboration tools.
Daily interaction with senior management members, project development and external grid teams.

Requirements

Bachelor or Master's degree in electrical engineering or power systems engineering, renewables or similar.
A highly organised and adaptable team player that is self-motivated with a passion for solving problems pragmatically and collaboratively.
Understanding of high voltage equipment & UK electricity network connections.
Experience analysing large datasets (solar PV or battery storage performance reviews are ideal).
Excellent literacy and numeracy, with competence translating this into internal and client-facing reports.
Proficiency with MS Excel/MS Office applications.
Intent on making a real impact to climate change with innovative technology.

Desirable Skills

Experience with AutoCAD, PVSyst or ETAP.
Knowledge of Grid Code/G99 requirements would be an advantage.
