The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) is a multi-modal transportation agency, with primary responsibility for the City’s roadways and bridges. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual to perform designs, studies, and project management on behalf of the department with a focus on traffic engineering and design. Project responsibilities may include traffic engineering studies (speed studies, signal warrants, signal timing), traffic design (signals, signing and pavement marking, MOT) operational analysis (Synchro), traffic calming and safety improvements, and bicycle, pedestrian, or Complete Streets design.
Minimum qualifications: A bachelor’s of science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and four years of experience performing traffic or transportation engineering work. A master’s degree in engineering may be substituted for the Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or for two years of the experience requirement.
Preferred qualifications: A current licensure as a Professional Engineer issued by the Maryland State Board of Professional Engineers or equivalent out-of-state license is preferred.
