Deputy Director of Public Works - Wastewater

Located in San Mateo County just twelve miles south of San Francisco, Pacifica feels worlds away from it, yet is easily accessible from Highway 1.  The most panoramic coastal town in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a population of approximately 40,000, Pacifica is a unique family-oriented coastal community that prides itself on fostering a “small town” feel. The Public Works Department is supported by 56 staff across three divisions including 28 in the Wastewater Division.

The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and confident wastewater professional with outstanding supervisory and interpersonal skills.  They will be an approachable manager who leads by example with a strong customer orientation.  Successful candidates will have six years of responsible experience in wastewater treatment and utility operations at a public agency.  A valid California Class C driver’s license and possession of a current California Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate are required.
