Role

Our vibrant and growing north west regional office is looking for a motivated and ambitious candidate to lead the land contamination aspects of our highly successful ground and environmental engineering team. We would expect someone at this grade to have strong technical, commercial and interpersonal skills, project finance awareness, be client facing, and self-motivated. They must have a proven track record managing and mentoring both junior and senior engineers and experience working within in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Job Duties include:

Ø Project delivery, winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.

Ø Provide support, training and mentorship to junior and senior engineers.

Ø Lead team and client meetings.

Ø Prepare fee bids and proposals for internal and external clients.

Ø Prepare and check a wide variety of technical reports including desk studies, ground investigations, contamination risk assessments, remediation strategies, materials management plans and other interpretive geo-environmental reports.

Ø Prepare project-specific health & safety documentation.

Ø Business and client development.

Minimum Requirements:

Ø Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents appropriate to with their technical discipline and experience.

Ø Thorough understanding of contaminated land regulatory and legislative framework.

Ø Conceptualisation of the ground to enable and justify the design and scope of site investigation.

Ø Experienced with water, ground and soil gas site investigation techniques.

Ø Experience in preparing and managing environmental risk assessments (human health, gas and groundwater), and in materials management.

Ø Experience in preparing remediation option appraisals and in the design, implantation and verification of remediation works.

Ø A good knowledge of the principal soil and rock strata encountered in the UK and their

associated geohazards.

Ø Experienced in logging soils and rock to current British Standards.

Ø Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

Ø Experience with working for various organisations e.g. house builders, private developers, contractors and utilities providers.

Ø Minimum of 10 years' experience.

Ø Chartered status

Ø Full UK Driving Licence.
