Groomfield Recruitment are looking for 4 Civil Supervisors for their client based in the following areas:

- LICHFIELD

- STAFFORD

- BURNTWOOD

Job Duties:

Overseeing civils and cabling (Flex) teams involved in FTTx deployment using PIA or self build models.
Ensuring all staff under supervision are competent, fully trained and licensed where necessary.
Carry out toolbox talks and inductions prior to starting on the project.
Monitoring and documenting works.
Ensure streetworks permits and client timescales are met.
Liaise with Local Authorities, Highways Agencies, other utilities and clients to coordinate works.
Supervise best practice and compliance with Openreach PIA and other such third party infrastructure throughout the lifecycle of the network deployment activities.
Carrying out site meetings with representatives to discuss works, permit conditions and agree Traffic Management requirements.
Be mindful of budgets to ensure deployment activity is kept within tight constraints.
Ensure any principal contractors have the correct site-specific method statements and risk assessments in place.
Carry out daily audits to ensure that work sites meet NRSWA and Health & Safety standards and that sites are compliant with the current scope of works and any such works within third party networks.
Ensure all productivity targets and KPI's are achieved whilst ensuring all work is carried out safely and to adequate standards as stated in the contract specification documentation.
Interact with the public, dealing with any issues that the network construction activities may have caused.
Monitoring health and safety and working closely with the QHSE Manager
Review and ensure closure of all corrective actions or improvement actions raised against works you are monitoring.
Ensure all completed works documentation and as-builts/acceptance/test results documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Recording and reporting on Daily Whereabouts.
Capturing all daily/weekly site measures ensuring financial and commercial matters are captured with the commercial team and that any risks that may have arisen are reported to the Deployment Manager.
Capture and document all changes to design and liaise with design and deployment teams.

Ensure all site audits are done daily for both civils and cabling activities.

Experience / Requirements:

Experience of previous O/H and U/G FTTX/FTTH projects in both civils and cabling (flex) disciplines.
Extensive experience of working with Quality Plans, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
NRSWA Supervisor accreditation with good working knowledge of the New Roads and Streetworks Act.
Experience and accreditation to work on the BT Openreach Network and/or PIA for FTTh deployment.
Preparation of traffic management proposals and road space booking.
Experience of managing micro-trenching and traditional dig projects.
All round telecoms fibre deployment experience including fibre blowing, testing and splicing (UG/OH).
An understanding of OTDR/ILM test results and how to facilitate fault finding and repair.
Working knowledge of council permitting processes.
Excellent communication and organisation skills.
Valid UK Driving licence.
Competent within the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
Ability to understand and convey GIS network and SLD information.
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
