My client is a main, tier 1 contractor founded over a century ago, who is currently working on a major water project in the London area and is currently looking for 2x Shift Engineers.

They are leaders in the civil engineering sector with a scope of works such as rail, highways, aviation, energy, water and defence and has a turnover, as of 2020, of over 1000 m. Furthermore, they are a company that pride themselves on their ethical stance ensuring that they are sustainably aware by launching detailed climate change action plans with its intentions of tackling 'Scope 3' emissions to every climate by 2023. They are also within the top 50 employers for women according to 'The Times' in 2021 and furthermore employee 3,100 employees across the UK. You could be an addition to that family.

Currently, my client is looking for 2x Shift Engineers to input technical, organisational and supervisory skills.

You will set out and determine the location for infrastructural installations, both above and below ground, and will apply designs and plans to provide engineering assistance to site activities. You will also share responsibility for site health, safety, quality and environmental protection and the organisation and supervision of the manpower working on the construction site.
Working as part of the site management team, you'll be expected to liaise with other members of the construction support team including; engineers, planners, subcontractors, supervisors and surveyors.

As a site engineer, you will need to:

Provide engineering input on site to subcontractors and tradespeople.
Setting out, doing pre-pour checks and picking up as-builts using survey equipment.
Perform site monitoring and surveying in line with site monitoring plans.
develop safe systems of work, method statements and quality documentation; ITPs, QRPs and the like.
Assist in monitor budgets and site performance of work on site.
Ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
Assist with requisition of materials
Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
Attend regular progress meetings to inform the wider team
Assist in the day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors in area of responsibility
Assist with planning the work and efficiently organise the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
Monitor and contribute to the quality control and health and safety matters on siteThe site hours are 07:30 - 18:00 Monday to Friday with some occasional Saturday working when required. Daily start of shift briefing delivered at 07:30 which you will be expected to attend.
