Graduate Geo-Environmental/Technical Engineer
The company:
Our client formed in the 1970s and undertake all forms of Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consultancy work, providing design and supervisory services to various public bodies, private companies and individuals from 3 offices in Scotland
Comprehensive consultancy services are provided from initial feasibility and economic study stages through final design and detailing to completion and commissioning of projects on site.
With a complement of 45 plus staff distributed throughout three offices, the firm retains a wealth of experience.
They now seek a Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer.
The role entails:
• Visiting sites
• Inspecting earthworks and remediation on construction sites as well as some gas monitoring and trial pitting
• Supervise ground consolidation works to stabilise mine workings
• Site assessments
• Preparation of desk study reports and interpretative site investigation and reports would form a major part of the workload going forward.
There will be the opportunity to manage projects and prepare budget estimates.
Overall, there is likely to be a 50:50 split between site and office-based work initially with a greater percentage of management and report writing as experience is gained. Around 90% of our clients' work is generated from the housing industry with diverse projects providing an excellent introduction to all aspects of site investigation, interpretation and design
