Job Title: Geotechnical Design Engineer (Senior to Principal level)

Location: Multiple Locations (Exeter, London, Wakefield, Nottingham)

Employment Status: Perm OR Contract

Contract details: Potential for OUTSIDE IR35 on contract, rolling contract

Salary: £60k max / £45-50 per hour (depending on experience)

Working Station: Flexible - Ideally hybrid but would consider fully remote.

Job Overview:

A geotechnical design role working on several waste and wastewater treatment projects for a number of utility companies - UK wide projects.

Must have skills:

- A Degree in engineering geology, civil engineering or similar.

- Be at or approaching chartered status (CEng / CGeol)

- 8 years+ of relevant post-graduate experience.

- Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and familiarity with UK soils and rock.

- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and geotechnical software

- Have excellent written and spoken English.

- Hold a clean UK driving licence.

- Ability to lead and develop a team.

- Confidence to liaise with internal and external clients.

Desired skills:

-Post graduate degree (MSc/MEng) in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, soil mechanics, foundation engineering etc.

- CSCS card and PTS an advantage.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical engineer with excellent interpretative reporting and geotechnical design skills, e.g. shallow foundations, piles, retaining walls. This is essential experience for the role and as a result you will be given the opportunity to collaborate on a range of exciting projects.

Duties will include design and management of ground investigations, preparation of desk studies and interpretative reporting, problem solving, foundation design and slope stability assessments. Responsibilities will also include training and support of team members, project management and working towards the sector business plans. There may be some line management expected, so we will expect you to be engaging and a team player as our client has a very collaborative environment.

Other requirements will see you working to develop relationships internally and externally to aid in the sector plans for growth. This could be by via client meetings, networking or even by gaining repeat business by delivering quality work.
