Graduate Civil Engineer - Up to £28k - Clerkenwell

Our client are a well-established London based Transportation specialist with a strong reputation for the work they carry out in the Transport Planning and Infrastructure design sector. They work on some incredibly exciting and challenging development planning projects throughout the UK, with a strong foothold in London, Europe and beyond. There projects range from large scale commercial skyscrapers to sports stadiums and major events, and they are leading the way in active travel and autonomous vehicles, with a real drive to engineer solutions that take onboard people and the communities needs, both now and in the future. Due to their continued forward thinking approach, they are still looking for individual at Graduate level to join the Civils team.
Job Description
As our client's civil engineering offering is evolving and growing, they are looking for talented Graduate Engineer to join the London office.
From day one you will be undertaking transport infrastructure design projects utilising CAD software and other design tools which will see you contribution to our client's wide range of work. These projects will include highways and traffic engineering, street design, masterplans, services and construction logistics.
Your role will include delivering engineering design, technical analysis, research, forecasting, modelling and calculations, and reporting as required to support our clients in delivering highways, streets and transport infrastructure schemes.
As a graduate you will be given the necessary training and increased responsibility as your technical knowledge grows. In time you will work on a wide range of projects from inception through to detailed design and construction stages and you will be given responsibility to deliver with autonomy, supported by team.
As an employer they will be provided the necessary training to build your skills and capabilities aligned with their business and your professional aspirations. You will take a pro-active role in supporting the development of our business in line with our business strategy. This will include attending conferences, seminars and networking events, building existing client relationships, and developing your network.
Key Responsibilities
You have a Civil Engineering degree, equivalent, or experience in similar technical engineering discipline
Skills and appetite to allow the development of transport and highway infrastructure, streets and public realm schemes from concept through to detailed design
Ability to work independently
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to successfully manage your own time
You have strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Experience of developing designs in AutoCAD
Qualifications / Experience
Relevant related Engineering Degree/Chartered Engineer Status/working towards chartership/Significant Experience
For this role we are willing to consider a fresh graduate looking to develop their career with a leading London based Consultant, or someone with up to 2 years' experience from a similar civil design consultancy.
Membership of appropriate professional body
Computer skills with experience of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and CAD software (Civils3D certainly desirable)
A desire to develop your design skills for both a roads and drainage perspective.
Experience in urban and public realm design
Sound written and numeracy communication skills able to converse with engineering professionals and the like.
Working conditions / environment
Based in Central London, with offices in the Clerkenwell region they are looking at offering hybrid working, with potentially three days based in the office
