My client is an independent civil & structural consultancy in the North-east. They specialise in Civil, Structural and Surveying services to our clients both nationwide and overseas.

Duties:

* Undertake assessments of Structural designs for a wide range of building types, in particular foundation design. This will include reviews from philosophy to detailed drawings and calculations.

* Review drawings, calculations, and other related technical information to mitigate risk related to the foundation design.

* Liaison with clients, consultants, and other external and internal stakeholders on technical matters - must ensure that standards are being maintained and procedures adhered to.

* Provide technical advice on claims as well as undertaking site inspections and assessments, when necessary, on more complex claims to assess causes and identify remedial works.

* Provide advice to the Marketing and Underwriting Departments on technical areas so that team members are fully informed when dealing with potential clients.

* Undertake any other duties as reasonably required

Skills and Experience

* Good presentation and communication skills.

* Relevant experience, especially in designing and managing projects, ideally 3+ years' industry experience.

* Experience of monitoring contract staff or third-party appointments would be desirable.

* Able to interrogate/use computer modelling (Revit), organise and direct the production of structural CAD drawings, Revit Models and correspond effectively with opposite numbers with other consultants.

* Skills in project managing on-going jobs with limited supervision are desirable.

* Experience in the same or similar position is desired.

* Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
