We are currently working with a Principle Civil Engineering Contractor who are continuing to win work across the UK and are looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their growing commercial team. The role has come about due to a significant period of growth. They are looking for an experienced project level or senior quantity surveyor to join their Cambridgeshire based commercial team.

The contractor specialise in civil engineering, marine, flood defences, environmental agency, infrastructure and highways projects. Project values range from £5 to £30 million. * Set profitability targets with the team, develop procurement strategy, and regularly produce financial progress reports

* Timely procurement, negotiation, and administration of subcontracts in accordance with procurement strategy

* Ensure that payments are applied for and received in accordance with the contract

* Production of CVRs, Cashflow, and End Day Forecasts, and ensure that all are kept in line with targets and project strategy

* Monitor progress against programme (including subcontractors) in support of the site management

* Undertake preparation and agreement of internal and external valuation/final account to ensure recovery of full entitlement in accordance with the contract

* Ensure timely compliance with contractual obligations and provide advice and guidance to the team as necessary

* Influence and contribute in resolution of all disputes that have a commercial impact


* Is Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or related course (or equivalent relevant experience)

* Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines

* Evidence of building effective relationships with teams

* Has worked in a Water or Civil Engineering environment and been responsible for commercial performance using NEC forms of contract
