Graduate Civil Engineer:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Graduate to join their Exeter team. The civils team in Exeter numbers at 15 with additional teams spread across the other regional offices.

They are involved in; planning, drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, infrastructure and highway design. They are presently involved in large distribution warehouses from planning stage through to construction as well as a large Enterprise development in Bath, this is a mixed contemporary development of residential, commercial and retail spaces and services a major part of the regeneration of this iconic city.

THE ROLE:

Currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer for the busy civil engineering team, based in the Exeter Office. It is essential that the candidate will be capable of working well within a team environment. They will have excellent mathematical and technical skills, an up to date knowledge of the relevant software and standards for the production of quality detailed designs, ensuring that engineering solutions produced comply with current design and construction standards, applicable legislation and client expectations; and are delivered in accordance with the agreed timescales.

Civil engineering design and drafting functions will be primarily in the field of highways, drainage, and specific experience of the following is desirable:

• 3D site modelling and road design using PDS design suite

• S38/S278 highway design to Manual for Streets and Design Manual for Roads & Bridges

• Volumetric Assessment

• Drainage design for Private and Adoptable Systems (Strategy and Layout, Hydraulic Calculations)

• Flood risk assessments

• Undertaking Statutory Authority Searches & Liaison

• General Reporting and Correspondence

• Construction Specifications

• Risk Assessments

The role is full time for 37.5 hours per week and the successful candidate will need to be flexible to ensure that projects are delivered on time and in budget.

THE INDIVIDUAL:

You will have a demonstrable proven track record of working within a busy civil engineering team, be expected to hit the ground running and enjoy working in a busy (but friendly) time pressured environment to meet multiple fixed deadlines. You will be able to work both under supervision and on your own initiative and be able to take tasks of ad-hoc nature in your stride. The position will require an individual who is organised, numerically literate and analytical, has an attention for detail and takes a professional pride in the quality and delivery of their of their work and that of their team.
