A leading global organisation is investing in developing new disruptive technologies for renewable energy, automation and IoT solutions for use in fast paced manufacturing and logistics operations.
With a commitment to reduce emissions to zero this is a newly created position to develop renewable energy production and capture for use within their own facilities.
Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy
Salary: to £50000 + benefits
Location: Coventry , West Midlands
As a specialist Electrical Design Engineer you will design, build and commission electrical systems for renewable energy production and storage. You will own the electrical and controls architecture and cabinet layouts for each system, creating electrical drawings in addition to wiring your design, whilst training and supervising the engineering technicians to also assemble panels and wire equipment to your specifications.
Duties:
o Design, build and test electrical systems used at the heart of new innovative PV solar and wind energy capture and battery storage solutions tot customer specific requirements
o Plan controls architecture and cabinet layouts for each system, creating electrical CAD drawings
o Provide engineering support to the service team with advice and remedial actions following investigations of product failures.
o Support Equipment & Machine Safety Assessments and completing the technical file for self certification under CE/UKCA machinery directive
o Creating all relevant manuals, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health and Safety documentation
Experience:
The role requires a highly skilled and focused Electrical Design Engineer or Power Systems Engineer who can demonstrate creative and ingenious thinking with the ability to solve electrical integration problems quickly with a portfolio of experience across the following fields;
o HNC/ Degree Electrical Engineering within a electrical equipment manufacturing, renewable energy or power systems distribution & storage.
o Design experience of electrical power systems, control & distribution and wiring schematics
o Knowledge of electrical design incorporating some of the following: energy distribution, battery storage, PV solar, electrical switchgear(LV/MV/HV), transformers, power supplies, bus bars, cooling fans, containerised/ packaged solutions
o Keen to solve problems from initial conceptual design, build, test and final commissioning stage
o Knowledge of CE/UKCA machinery directive and functional safety desirable
