Senior Civil Engineer (Design & Management) - South West London / Hybrid, to £55,000 per annum plus pension, healthcare & benefits;

Our client is an independently owned, rapidly growing civil and structural consultancy specialising in the rail sector. Their clients include Network Rail, Transport for London and the rail industry's leading design and build contractors. They have an opportunity for a senior civil engineer which will provide management experience and good career progression.

Your Role: Reporting a civil engineering director you will manage two junior/ intermediate engineers. You will work closely with clients and be involved at conceptual design stages. In conjunction with the engineers under your supervision you will carry out steel, concrete and masonry design. This will involve checking designs and ensuring they are practical, cost effective and meet industry standards. You will also assist directors as they bid for work providing input to help determine fee proposals. You will take responsibility for co-ordinating civil engineering work on larger multi-disciplinary projects and answer design queries at construction phase.

Project Workload: Their workload encompasses the design of station redevelopments, platforms, platform extensions, bridges, escalator structures and lift shafts, retaining walls, permanent way, culverts and associated civil infrastructure. In addition, they regularly work on rail associated building projects.

Your Profile: A degree qualified civil engineer with rail related civil / structural experience. Knowledgeable in reinforced concrete and steel design and capable of managing the production of detail design from concept stages through to completion. A good communicator who can forge productive working relationships with client representatives and external stakeholders. Ideally you should be working towards chartered status, the company runs an ICE approved training scheme and will proved support mentoring and the right project experience.

Hybrid Working: The company has a flexible approach to hybrid working. This typically allows for two days of home working per week.
