There are two angles to this Electrical Engineer position; we are looking for someone who has either recently graduated in Electrical Engineering with a 2.1 or above, or someone who has been able to gain some time in water industry focused on electrical engineering schemes.

You will be joining one of the water industries favoured consultants and a highly recognised brand within this highly technical field.

They are close partners with water authorities and other bodies such as the Environment Agency and Flood Authorities throughout the UK, and engaged on a range of unique and technically interesting schemes throughout the country.

If you are joining as a graduate, you will gain entry to their Graduate Training Scheme which will see you receive a mix of on-the-job training, site work and support to develop your professional qualifications.

Within a short space of time, you will be getting involved with all aspects of the Electrical Engineer role within the water industry including:

Producing a scope of works and feasibility studies
Initial and detailed design drawings
Carbon reduction works, both embodied and in-use
Writing performance specifications
Reviewing tender responses and
Carrying out site supervision including acceptance testing and commissioning.

If you have already worked within the industry for a year or two, well you can look forward to joining a team whose knowledge is matched only by their enthusiasm for the industry.

In either position you will be working on a hybrid basis being able to split your time between office, site and home. Naturally, if you are a Graduate Electrical Engineer with no previous experience you will need to spend more time in the office than you would as an experienced Electrical Engineer.

It is essential that you have a degree in Electrical Engineering at 2.1 or above (if applying for the graduate post) and either a genuine interest, or experience of working on pumping stations and system design, new build and refurbishment design for control water control structures, knowledge of electrical systems for pumping stations, weed screens, valves and sluices plus alarm systems for fire and security coupled with an awareness of building services engineering.

On offer is top class training and professional development, a well-rounded package including enhanced pension, tax friendly benefits such as cycle to work and company profit share.

They have opportunities available in both West Yorkshire and East Anglia, so if you are based around the Peterborough or Leeds area, they can offer you a great option to grow as an Engineer.
