Geotechnical Engineer - Engineer / Senior

My client is a large multidisciplinary consultancy who are looking for a talented Geotechnical Engineer for their offices in Manchester.
Outline of role:
Main duties will include undertaking desk studies, interpretative reports, design and management of site investigations, site supervision, production of specifications, geotechnical calculation and analysis.
Geotechnical Engineer - Engineer / Senior Core duties and responsibilities:
Prepare budgets for geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations as part of tendering for work.
Undertake feasibility (desk studies etc), detailed design and analysis of site investigations, foundations, earthworks, ground improvement and instrumentation/monitoring.
Preparation of Highways England & Network Rail documentation; preparation of drawings & specifications for tender & detailed design.
Supervise ground investigations and geotechnical construction works.
Input into general marketing on behalf of the company and help develop external customer relationships.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors.
Specific Technical Skills in geotechnical design as appropriate.
Have appropriate experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration.
Familiarity with relevant software packages such as MS Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD and geotechnical design software etc.
The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce reports in clear English
Have some knowledge and/or experience of the management of projects, both financially and technically
Professional Membership and Qualifications:
A higher degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or Applied Geology. Or an Earth Science first degree with a higher degree in geotechnical engineering. As an alternative to the higher degree a good track record of relevant experience will be considered.
A recognised professional qualification or membership of an appropriate professional body would be beneficial.
