On behalf of our client, a growing new build housing development company, based in near Hurst Green, East Sussex we are looking for a Civil and Structural Engineer.

This is a fantastic engineering opportunity within an expanding business.

You will oversee and manage the civil and structural engineering matters on our residential development projects. You will be responsible for producing all the documents necessary to do this including the preparation and production of civil and structural engineering plans, drawings, specifications and feasibility reports.

The main responsibilities within the role include:

Developing detailed structural and civil designs for residential projects, including drainage (SUDS) schemes, drainage/flood assessments, highways items (site accesses and roads), foundation and super-structural drawings/designs.
Liaising with other professionals, local authorities (Highways/ Southern Water) and other stakeholders to resolve queries and develop technical submissions, including S104, S106, S278 and S39 applications.
Managing the approval process of such structural and civil designs by the relevant bodies - planning departments, Highways and southern water.
Have a working understanding of Building Regulations and associated legislation
Point of liaison with Project Managers, co-ordinators, from commencement to completion, offering technical advice and guidance, ensuring standards and procedures are maintained
Essential Skills

Knowledge of planning and building control processes.
Experience and use of AutoCAD, Causeway Flow or other mainstream software.
Commercial awareness and the ability to develop cost effective viable civil and structural solutions.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written English communication skills,
Strong attention to detail and ability to make correct judgements or seek guidance when unsure.
Good understanding of structural theory and strong analytical skills, with proven problem-solving ability.
Practical approach to design.
Enthusiasm, ambition, and ownership over professional development.
Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required.The role is Monday to Friday - typical hours are 9am to 5.30pm.
You'll receive statutory holiday (20 days + 8 bank holidays) and statutory pension contributions. along with a competitive salary and supportive team to work alongside.
