Job title: Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Brighton

We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Engineer who wants to grow their design knowledge on exciting and challenging structures. Working for a well established and award-winning national consulting engineering practice. A team which have an established training culture and operate under a structure of coaching, mentoring and collaboration. These structures range across all disciplines, on all types of Building and Civil engineering projects, from inception through to completion.

The company needs a Senior Structural Engineer who is Chartered or near Chartered. They are looking for someone who has experience in managing both projects and people but wants to grow their design knowledge on exciting and challenging structures.

Experience & Qualifications required-
  • Chartered with ICE/IStructE or approaching
  • Proven Project engineer experience
  • Client liaison, developed relationships with sound commercial understanding
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Experience of Structural Design in Reinforced Concrete, Steel Timber and Masonry
  • Detailed experience using Eurocodes
  • Sound construction awareness and knowledge

  • Sound technical knowledge
  • FEM Analysis & analysis modelling
  • Detailed understanding and use of Analytical/Design and CAD software
  • Experience of working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
  • Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously

Responsibilities-
  • Developing detailed designs and competent calculations in all major materials
  • Analysing structural components
  • Coaching and tasking others. Including Degree Apprentices/Technicians & Graduates as to assist their development
  • Working with autonomy to complete assigned project work
