First People Solutions is working with a multidisciplinary Consulting Engineer in the Edinburgh area, who are recruiting for ambitious Geo-environmental Engineers to join a dynamic team of professionals and contribute to exciting projects. Our client has an established presence across the UK and delivers engineering and design solutions in a variety of sectors.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for Geotechnical ground investigation studies, coordinating soil and mineral site investigation, preliminary assessments, and review technical reports.
• To assist in the delivery of geotechnical, geo-environmental and water management projects
• Prepare and check design calculations and specifications for geotechnical works such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, earthworks, etc. and ensure the requirements for overall performance are met.
• Design, procurement and supervision of stage I and Stage II investigations. interpretive reports with recommendations for foundations, contamination remediation and soil gas protection.
• Liaise with local authority Contaminated Land Officers, SEPA and other agencies to agree remediation strategies.

What we need from you:

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or equivalent
• 1-3 years of post-graduate experience
• Experience in site investigation, reporting and analysis analysis and ground investigation
• Knowledge of geotechnical software
• Full UK driving licence
