Role- Structural EngineerSalary- £35,000- £55,000 per annum (Dependent on experience, please advise what you're looking for)Type- PermanentLocation- West SussexMy client design and manufacture a range of products for the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors and they are looking to take on a Structural Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the West Sussex area.The Structural Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Degree / HND / HNC qualified in either Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • 2 years' or more industry experience would be desirable working in a similar role
  • Previous experience working in a 3D analysis environment
  • Be able to work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of STAAD is required
  • Any experience working with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Tekla or Caesar would also be beneficial
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
The Structural Engineer role will involve:
  • Producing structural calculations
  • Producing design sketches
  • Providing steel weight estimates in line with company standards
  • Assisting the Sales department during the bidding stage of projects
  • Working as part of the technical team fulfilling project design requirements
  • Structural design of components
  • Monitoring job progress
  • Checking both drawings and structural calculations from colleagues
  • Liaising with sub-contractors when needed
