Geotechnical Engineer - Required for our client who specialise in Foundation Design and Construction. The Geotechnical Engineer will be based out of their Chorley office. This is an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a rapidly expanding business. The Most Successful Geotechnical Engineer will be undertaking designs and analyses for tender and contract purposes, as well as having a responsibility for leading and maintaining technical excellence.
It is envisaged that the Geotechnical Engineer will have previous experience of Geotechnical Design or compiling competitive tenders within piling or house foundations. The Ideal candidate will have a Degree within Civil Engineering or a geotechnical discipline with knowledge of the Residential housing sector.
The Geotechnical Engineer will be working within Piling & House Foundations department due to the location and nature of this role, you must have a full valid driving licence and be willing to travel between various sites when required.

Geotechnical Engineer Position Overview
- Prepare competent and competitive designs for piled foundations, ground improvement schemes and contiguous embedded retaining walls.
- Ensure that design risks are recorded.
- Ensure that designs take proactive account of health, safety, welfare and sustainability.
- Improve profitability by addressing assumptions and ambiguities proactively and in a timely manner.
- Produce competent design reports for projects, up to CAT 3 checking level.
- Liaise with site / operations team Client and Local authorities
- Provide technical input to NCR remedial works as required
- Produce presentations and supporting documentation to assist learning and development of others across the business.
- Assist other employees with design and technical queries
Geotechnical Engineer Position Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a Geotechnical discipline
- Previous experience within the construction industry
- Experience within Piling & House Foundations sector
- Experience of tender designs produced to the timescale required by the area estimating teams.
- Experience of CAT 3 checking level as well as Eurocode/BS
- Full UK driving license - Willing to travel to various sites
