Newstaff Employment Services are recruiting for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join a dynamic, progressive company.
Reporting to the Technical Director you will be accountable for carrying out a wide range of ground engineering elements, covering ground improvement, foundation design and retaining structure design.

Salary: £23,000 pa to £40,000 pa - negotiable depending on skills and experience + 20 days holiday + Bank Holdays + professional fees paid by company

Reporting to the Technical Director you will be accountable for carrying out a wide range of ground engineering elements, covering ground improvement, foundation design and retaining structure design.
The Role:
- Production of Geotechnical design at tender stage to client requirements
- Advising & working closely with structural engineers to achieve the most economical foundation solutions based upon site specific ground conditions
- Assessing of site conditions, i.e ground/gas contaminants, potential for heave etc…
- Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings
- Advising of site investigation brief to meet our design requirements
- Assisting with appointing and carrying out site investigation relevant to our proposals
- Visits to site as required
- Supporting Senior Engineers
Personal Attributes:
- Passion for Geotechnics
- Degree or greater in Geotechnics or another related field
- Happy to work within the fast-paced environment of subcontracting
- Strong technical writing skills
- Strong numerical modelling skills
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
- Passion for customer service
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Team player
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with an ability to prioritise
- Strong IT skills, especially in excel
- Confident communicator
- Dynamic
- Self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement
- Full driving licence (UK)
