JDO Civil EngineerLocation: Bridgwater TA5 1UDSalary: Competitive plus benefits - DOEHours: 40 hours per weekContract: 6 month PAYE Fixed Term Contract with possible extensionSonovision, an ORTEC Group company, are a multi award-winning company who provide engineering services, document engineering and marketing services to global OEMs across a wide variety of sectors including Defence, Aerospace, Energy and general Industry.A key strategy for Sonovision is the expansion of our core engineering portfolio with our existing client base, in particular, the Energy sector according with ORTEC strategy.JDO Civil Engineer - The Role:As part of the expansion of our Engineering and Projects activities, we are recruiting a Civil Engineer to support us in our growth in the Nuclear Energy sector. As part of a team, under the Team Lead, the Civil Engineer will be responsible for modifying and adapting the design received from the Back Office, substantiating the adapted design of the HR Building reinforced concrete structures on the Hinkley Point C project. The Civil Engineer will support the team directly and Tier 1 Civil Contractors.The civil work design is made on TEKLA, and used as a deliverable directly for construction activities for different tasks.JDO Civil Engineer - Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, fulfil the role identified belowAs part of the Civil team, the engineer will assist in:• Modifying reinforced concrete structure designs compliant with the ETC-C, other relevant codes.• Maintaining the client's QA procedures in delivering the CW design.• Working with the designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models.• Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures.• Liaising with colleagues in Paris (Malakoff) or Bristol.The right candidate will have the following skills and background:• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification• Knowledge of Structural Civil Work, Civil Design and Construction• Minimum of 2 years' Experience in Nuclear civil work OR complex structure• Experience in design of concrete structure• Experience in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or on a civil construction site• Experience on project dealing with material interfacesDesirable• Experience with on site design supportPlease note, candidates must successfully undergo UK Security Vetting before they can be appointed.
