The Role:

  • This opportunity is for a Civil Engineer to join a dynamic civils delivery team on our clients water sewerage contract. As part of a growing team, you'll assist with creating a streamlined and efficient design process for the benefit of project delivery.
  • You will be responsible for designing and delivering a range of sewer and water projects, with particular focus on design documents suitable for construction, which means they'll be making good use of your experience successfully overseeing and advising on utility and civil based design.
  • Awarded projects are varied and will involve traditional civils and innovative trenchless solutions, gravity and pump pipelines, as well as assistance with pump station and MEICA installations.


These are just some of aspects you'll be involved in:

  • Take a technical lead on the design process and provide input to programmes and tenders
  • Deliver technical plans and design reports for submission to their client
  • Along with input from the project team, ensure designs meet specifications and crucially, Health and Safety Legislation
  • Prepare and check design approach, calculations, drawings and documents against set criteria and specifications
  • Liaise with internal and client stakeholders to provide project updates
  • Carry out site visits, surveys and inspections
  • Provide line and levels / set out for construction activities


We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:

  • Full understanding of design principles, including Sewers for Adoption. Experience of deep excavation, trenchless pipe installation methods and Auto CAD to produce technical plans.
  • An understanding of the project management lifecycle together with commercial awareness is important, as are excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • If you have a degree in Engineering and are a Chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, or willing to work towards this accreditation with support.
