I'm currently working with an independent civil and structural design consultancy based in London who are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5yrs UK experience producing drainage designs and strategies for development infrastructure projects, £40k-£50k + benefits.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to be based on our London office. You'll be expected to contribute to a variety of projects that include highway and public realm proposals.

Depending on each project's specific needs, you will typically be expected to provide highway engineering design expertise, prepare technical drawings, write/contribute to reports and specifications. In addition, you will delegate tasks to junior staff and mentor them.

When meeting with clients and stakeholders, the ideal candidate will be assertive and confident. The ideal candidate will have experience working on multidisciplinary projects and responding to site inquiries, RFIs, etc. In addition, you will have technical knowledge with experience in all or most of the following:

Horizontal / vertical road alignment and junction layout design, pavement design - asphalt, concrete, and natural stone solutions for pedestrian and vehicular trafficked areas, highway/surface water drainage design, public realm design/coordination, including construction detailing, section 278 / 38 agreements, TSRGD and utilities diversion coordination, liaison with public utility companies, and experience of their procedures/requirements.

Duties will include:
  • Coordinate designs with other specialists and professionals.
  • Share knowledge, experience, skills and actively participate in technical discussions with team members.
  • Collaborate with clients, other professionals, and local authorities.
  • Embed sustainability/net zero carbon in all project work.
