We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our growing Civil Engineering team in Nottingham. Based on the edge of the park estate to the west of the city centre, an area noted for its Victorian architecture. We work on exciting projects like: The International Air and Space Training Institute - Newark. Florence Boot Hall at the University of Nottingham (A refurbishment of historically significant student residential building), High Rise Apartment Blocks (Refurbishment and structural intervention of a series of Large Panel System towers for Birmingham City Council), New Ward Accommodation at Nottingham City Hospital (4 storey volumetric hospital ward building) and the design of Primary and Secondary Schools across England.

The successful candidate will be a problem solver who is eager to learn from & mentor peers, someone who communicates well with people at all levels and champions teamwork & Innovation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Production of schematic/concept designs and detailed design calculations within defined project timescales
  • Liaising with other construction professionals in the development of designs
  • Directing technicians in the production of AutoCAD drawing information and undertaking quality reviews of drawn information prior to issue
  • Liaising with other disciplines within Curtins (ie Structures and Geo-Enviro) to ensure Curtins' design is fully co-ordinated.
  • Developing relationships with clients and other professionals with the aim of identifying and securing new project opportunities and helping to expand the discipline.
  • Production of Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports for planning.
  • Undertaking drainage and SuDS designs using MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow.

Essential Requirements
  • Accredited degree in Civil Engineering
  • Hold or be working towards Chartered status (MICE/ AMICE or equivalent).
  • IT literate with experience of structural design software packages and Microsoft Office
  • Technically competent and understand the fundamental stability requirements of structures and construction details.
  • Hold a valid driving license
