Structural Engineer- Required for my client for their office based in Guilford. The Structural Engineer will be working for a UK wide consultancy, which operate within the Civil and Structural Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join a fact growing company to work on a range of projects within a Multi-Disciplinary Environment.
The Ideal Structural Engineer will preferably have 3 Years' experience within a Structural Engineering Consultancy environment. The Structural Engineer will have a good working knowledge of construction methods, materials and building regulations.
The Structural Engineer will be working on large contracts as well as Structural reports / calculations and Designs. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects and tasks, with moderate supervision, to ensure the project is delivered within agreed budget and programme.

Structural Engineer Position Overview
- Produce design calculations
- Preparation of sketch plans, working drawings, specifications and reports
- Assist with planning site investigation works
- Preparing feasibility studies and providing design advice
- Development and use of computer-based systems to improve efficiency
- Undertake site inspection and attend site meetings
- Produce designs, assessments and calculations in accordance with quality procedures
- Liaise effectively with clients, other design team members and third parties
- Communicating with the client, other consultants and colleagues in the delivery of projects whilst maintaining a positive client relationship
- Understand and adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures
- Work within the given programme and cost constraints
Structural Engineer Position Requirements
- Degree within a Civil or Structural Engineering Discipline
- Working knowledge of SCIA and Tekla Building Designer
- Conversant in designing to British Standards/UK version of Eurocodes
- Understanding of CDM regulations and the responsibilities of a designer
- Conversant in designing structures in concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry
- Understanding of engineering principles
- Able to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elements
- Good interpersonal skills
