Due to continued growth, we are currently looking to appoint a Geo-Environmental Consultant/Engineer for our client's new regional office in Penrith. The client employs 85 people UK wide with the Geoscience division employing over 15 staff.

The scope of work typically encompasses contaminated land and geotechnical desk studies, site investigation planning, execution and reporting, remediation planning and verification reporting, landfill monitoring, CQA and waste consultancy.

The client is supported by their in-house specialist services including geotechnical and chemical laboratories, as well as in-house drilling, coring and in-situ testing services.

Key responsibilities:

Supervision of site investigation works including trial pitting, windowless drilling, and infiltration testing;
Preparation of desk-study and geo-environmental/geotechnical site investigation reports, including liaison with Clients and Regulators;
Development of testing schedules for physical and chemical parameters and liaison with our laboratory staff;
Implementation of environmental monitoring programmes at quarries, landfills and development sites;
A strong focus on Quality and Health & Safety;Essential:

A first degree in Earth Sciences or Environmental Engineering
The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues and clients, using verbal and written skills
Enthusiasm for outdoor working and a willingness to learn new skills in support of career progression
The ability to work effectively, either alone or within a team
Full clean driving licencePreferred but not essential:

A Master's degree in a relevant subject;
Previous experience in an environmental consultancy;
Knowledge of logging soils to BS5930 and HoleBASE geological logging software;
Membership of a relevant professional body, such as Geol Soc. or CIWEM;
