Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas, design and construction contractor is seeking Graduate Geotechnical Engineers to join their 2022 Graduate intake scheme based in their Surrey offices.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

-Civil First Class or Upper Second Class BEng or MEng/MSc, preferably accredited by a relevant engineering institution (ICE, IMarEST, IMechE)

-Strong mathematical/computer software skills

-Ability in communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues at work.

-Excellent written and oral communication

-Strong attention to detail and focus on results

-Keen interest in developing technically and willingness to work towards a recognised chartered engineering status

-Requires strong analytical skills,

-Able to perform geotechnical analysis and design tasks together with preparation of analysis documents and high-quality foundation design sketches used for the production of fabrication drawings.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Our Client is one of the largest turnkey Engineering & Construction (E&C) contractors in the Oil and Gas sector with a proven track-record over many years, and increasingly growing towards the Renewable Energy Sector as well. With a strong bias towards remote areas and challenging deep-water locations, it is a leader in the supply of engineering, procurement, project management and construction services, with distinctive capabilities in the design and execution of large-scale offshore and onshore projects.

Our Client operates a prestigious fleet of vessels for offshore construction in shallow and deep water. These include Heavy lift vessels &large transportation barges for installing/removing topsides, jackets and large windfarm components, Pipelay vessels for installation of rigid / flexible pipelines, umbilicals & cables, construction vessels for subsea trenching & subsea structures installation.

Our Client, based in South London, is part of the Robotics & Subsea Facilities and Industrialized Solutions (ROIS) business unit which has a strong track-record in design, installation and removal of offshore oil & gas infrastructure, and increasingly specialising in offshore wind farm infrastructure (fixed and floating) throughout the world, but predominantly in the harsh environment of the North Atlantic, North Sea and Baltic regions.

Our Client is actively expanding our capability in engineering and construction in the renewables sector (offshore wind farms).

They are currently looking for high calibre graduates, either Fresh Graduates or ideally with some work experience, with a degree qualification in engineering (e.g. mechanical, civil/structural, naval architecture, material engineering or similar).

The Graduate role requires strong analytical skills, able to perform geotechnical analysis and design tasks together with preparation of analysis documents and high-quality foundation design sketches used for the production of fabrication drawings.

Key job description items can be summarized as:

Performance of geotechnical analysis tasks and preparation of analysis documentsas part of training under supervision.

Review of geotechnical data and derivation of soil design parameters for relevant (shallow and deep) foundation analysis and design/ installation analysis

Undertaking preliminary and/or conceptual geotechnical analysis and special studies for tenders / capability and innovative concept assessment as part of training under supervision.

Development of analytical models both linear and non-linear, for foundation axial and lateral load/deflection response and pile soil interaction analysis, aimed for foundation and structure interaction analysis

Development of pile foundation design which may include pile for steel jacket structures, monopile for wind turbine generators, suction caissons, mud-mat design, and gravity base structures

Maintaining records in accordance with Department procedures and compiling and checking reports

Reviewing and checking project drawings

To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of Clients current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.

To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with Clients policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with Client specific procedures

Training and development will be provided to build a wide range of technical and professional skills within the department, which are necessary to work in our multi-disciplinary project-based organisation covering a range of work locations. Whilst the role will predominantly be London based, we require flexibilityto undertake work in other offices and offshore sites at appropriate times.

Our Client encourages and supports all engineers in their professional development to achieve Chartered Engineer status.

SALARY & BENEFITS

These are Permanent Staff positions and joining a major organisation would have many large company benefits. As well the further training would be second to none in the industry Salaries offered would be dependent on qualifications obtained. For a fresh graduate the starting salary is good with higher salaries for those with a Masters and with also further enhanced for those with a PhD . Graduates who have had some experience either in the oil and gas industry or other industries there would be a level of increase in the basic starting salary.

Please also note that candidates must be available to interview from Mid-July they are hoping to start the scheme in early mid September.

The Clients Office are very close to the Station.

Our Client is also looking for Graduate Structural Engineers, Graduate Metallurgy/Material Engineers, Graduate Naval Analysis Engineers and Trainee Installation Engineers.
