The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for A Facilities & Environmental Engineer to join our clients growing team that work within the automotive industry based in the Llanelli area.Contract: PermanentSalary: £38,000-£40,000Hours of work: Full time: 37 hours per week: Monday to Thursday: 8am to 4.30pm and 8am to 1pm Fridays.The successful candidate will be responsible for facilities & environmental engineering activities, effectively managing and coordinating operational level facilities activities. The role plays a key part in the coordination of site services, plant and asset moves (requiring services) and providing technical expertise to the environmental management system
  • Qualified to NEBOSH certificate level 3 in Environment / Health and Safety desirable
  • Qualified to or working towards a higher qualification.
  • Qualified auditor of HSEQ management systems

Key Tasks / Responsibilities:
  • A key responsibility of the role will be to maintain the Environmental management system and accreditation to ISO 14001. The ideal candidate will have a business systems background, preferably in Environmental systems but will also be of interest to candidates with strong quality management system backgrounds.
  • Managing policy to ensure that the organisation complies with all relevant UK environmental legislation
  • Training and auditing are integral duties required to make the whole workforce aware of and able to fulfil environmental responsibilities
  • Conducting project work to ensure the continued uplift of internal and external infrastructure
  • Manages the workload of the site cleaning team
  • Supports the Health and Safety manager in the area of energy
  • Keeps and maintains the Plant EMS
  • Tracks and trends the ECAR system
  • Play an active role in maintaining the corporate environmental indicator system
  • Provides relevant training and education for operational personnel in environment matters
  • Strives to identify and implement BAT to further improve environmental performance
  • As part of the daily work routines, identify improvements required and implement changes/upgrades with the approval of interested parties

Key Requirements:
  • Ability to engage with employees at all levels of the organisation and interpret / communicate environmental legislation in clear manner
  • Plans and implements operational plant infrastructure and facilities needs tracking and trending outsourced costs to budget
  • Keeps and maintains a register of outsourced support services. Is the plant lead for contractor control and the site emergency plan
  • Have a good working knowledge of buildings maintenance and uplift standards

Aptitude - Key abilities to be demonstrated:
  • You will have a proven track record for collecting and analysing data and the ability to use it to create clear & targeted action plans
  • Can facilitate multi contractual services to achieve project deadlines
  • Logical thinking and problem solving ability. Can manage and make best use of site resources to meet business needs
  • Ability to manage your own workload, drive improvement in a fast paced and diverse environment with little supervision

Knowledge / Experience:
  • Experience within a customer facing manufacturing organisation is essential (Automotive is desirable) during which you will have developed a sound understanding of the multifaceted needs of such
  • Ability to plan and organise projects implementing services for asset moves
  • Experience in dealing with external sources (Contractors, local authorities, Regulators, Fire Authority & Insurance).
  • Is able to negotiate with 3rd parties to ensure trusting partnerships and value for service is maintained
