Crouch Waterfall is an established firm of Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Consulting Engineers with extensive experience of Railways, Buildings, Roads, Bridges and Waterways.

The practice, formed in 1981, has enjoyed steady growth with works carried out throughout the UK from offices in Basingstoke, Bristol & Warrington.

Crouch Waterfall's main focus is within five main areas: Buildings, Rail, Bridges, Temporary Works and Embankments & Earthworks Design. These disciplines overlap within most projects and allow Crouch Waterfall to provide a comprehensive Structural, Civil and Geotechnical Engineering design service.

Geotechnical Design Engineer

Crouch Waterfall are currently experiencing rapid growth with exciting opportunities, and are looking for practical, problem-solving engineers who can grow with the company to achieve the goals of the business in parallel with their personal ambitions, in a friendly, professional and welcoming environment. The company has an ICE Training Scheme to aid in the development of all engineers.

The position requires a BEng or BSc and/or MEng Engineer ideally with a minimum of three years' experience in Geotechnical Engineering. Ideally a candidate who is keen to diversify and encompass the broad scope of our project remits which cover Rail, Highways, domestic and commercial structures as well as temporary works in both the public and private sectors.

The candidate should be conversant with engineering software such as Oasys, Plaxis or Geo5. As an Engineer you will be expected to take ownership of some projects within your remit, interacting with the other Engineers and Technicians within your team. The Engineer will be supported and supervised by the Principal Engineers within the office and work in close conjunction with the other offices. The ideal candidate should be proactive, dynamic and intuitive, happy to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player and interacting comfortably with the other staff members.

Preferred experience to include:
  • Slope stability (soil and rock)
  • Deep and shallow foundation design
  • Settlement analysis
  • Project management
  • Derivation of soil and rock parameters for design
  • Understanding of EC7 and associated standards for design
  • Earthworks

To be considered for this role we require the following experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes;
  • Relevant Geotechnical Engineering degree
  • 3+ years' experience
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport would be useful but not imperative
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK
  • High standard of written and spoken English

Salary

Remuneration will be commensurate with background and experience in line with the current industry rates. The package includes pension scheme, Health Insurance, 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays and cycle to work scheme.

Salary: Negotiable dependent on current experience

Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays. Option to purchase up to 5 additional days' holiday per year + your Birthday

Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week (full time role)

Hours of Work:Flexible working hours. Core business hours are Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 4.30pm.

Hybrid Working Office working 3 days per week. Home working 2 days per week (or pro-rata for part-time staff.
