Our client are looking to recruit a Civil Engineering Manager, who will be an integral part of the management structure.

This role will be an integral part of the management structure and will work alongside the Fibre Delivery and SHEQ Managers to ensure the business is compliant within the scope of works.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To manage the civils engineering function of our client as directed by the Managing Director. Build and maintain the division establishing the team to deliver exceptional quality and timely installations to become best in industry. Developing and securing revenue streams with new and existing clients, through consistently delivering service excellence.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure all civils activities are undertaken to the required legal and quality standards consistently delivering in line with the business expectations, exceeding core values of Quality, Partnership, and Integrity. Ensuring Safety is at the forefront of everything they do, and the teams have the right equipment to complete the job safely and on time. Manage all civils delivery activities working closely with the Fibre Delivery Manager and project co-ords to plan, install and sign off all work activities. Implementing strategy plans and ensure robust processes and systems are in place to support the growth of the business.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES / HARD SKILLS

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Lead by example as an ambassador for the our client and to maintain professional integrity as a manager

• Management of the day-day civil engineering deliverables of the business

• Complete walk outs with local LA's and civils teams to ensure correct scope of works

• Keep up to date with all legislation requirements and changes to process - HAUC and NRSWA

• Management of FPN's and fines

• Build the civils engineering team to be agile and robust to deliver for multiple clients

• Complete remeasures to ensure consistency in job packs vs cost

• Management of civils contractors

• Health and Safety audits and driving the correct behaviours within the team and contractors

• Support the Managing Director in updating them on new and improved standards within the industry so the business can adjust accordingly

• Management of the P&L for civil engineering

• Always drive to deliver and exceed the customer's expectations

• Development and onward management of Civil Engineering functions

• ERS Management and point of contact - Emergency Restoration Service - 24/7 call out

• Strategy implementation and forward growth planning within the SLT

• Providing leadership to the civil engineering team and ensure clients SOW are met

• Development of new opportunities within the business

• Excellent communication internally and with clients

• Understanding and supporting client deliverables

• Supporting tender applications

• All performance management activities with line reports

• Responsible for talent management and development of the team ensuring skills sets are in place for the future growth of the business

• Responsible for the recruitment needs of the civil engineering team

Work Experience / Technical Skills / Sub-systems

Required

• Min 10 years Civils delivery in telecoms or infrastructure within the UK

• Excellent communicator

• Management experience, held previous management roles

• Sound health & safety knowledge

Preferred Educational Qualifications / Training Record

Proven training qualifications within the telecoms industry from recognised training body
