System Engineer - Environmental Control Systems
Duration: 6 months
Location: Remote
€40-60 per hour DOE
Your role and your team:
We are looking for an outstanding Systems Engineer with electrical engineering background to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility. This position will contribute, as part of an integrated cross-functional team, to the energy systems architecture, design, and delivery of the Aircraft. In particular, this will include the development of the electrical architecture of the Environmental Control System (ECS) implemented into our e-VTOL.
Your Day to Day:
Mechanical and electrical design of an innovative high voltage network with focus on the Environmental Control System, switching and protection at up to 1000 VDC
Specification of system, subsystem, and component requirements, and detailed design
Support supplier discussion on E&E development topics and equipment qualification
Network and component modelling and simulation, especially regarding electrothermal and transient behaviour
Support of flight testing activities, including analysing data from vehicles and laboratories and drawing conclusions
Performance of troubleshooting, debugging and root cause analysis on vehicles and laboratories
Specification of laboratory testing
Your Profile:
M.Sc./Eng. or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field required
Min. 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, familiar with Environmental Control Systems and aircraft systems
Strong knowledge of standards and good practices in electrical wiring, printed circuits, EMC, bonding, insulation, and related electrotechnical components and materials
Skilled in electrical network modelling and analysis
Skilled in supporting experimental testing of systems and vehicles, including debugging and data analytics
Knowledge of and experience with RTCA DO-160 and similar environmental test standards is required
Knowledge of and experience with systems engineering principles (SAE ARP 4754/4761) and airborne hardware and software development processes (RTCA DO-178 and 254)
High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills are required
Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
