Job Details:

As an Environmental and Sustainability Engineer you will be the responsible lead on environmental, sustainability and net zero ambitions initiatives from initial research through to solution delivery. Servicing four sites in the UK as the role develops there will be opportunities to implement sustainability globally. This role will be project based in Sheffield with some time spent on other sites throughout the UK. Working with UK & Global Operational Management Teams, EHSQ Leaders, and CI Teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Advocate sustainability throughout the business, raising awareness and understanding whilst driving a sustainable net zero programmes.

* Working on EPD, CAPEX and projects to measure environmental impact, sustainability, and carbon footprint to implement sustainability processes and cultural awareness.

* Set appropriate KPI's, objectives and improvement initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, increase sustainability, and positively affect our carbon footprint

* Understand and communicate the impact of packaging on the environment. Implement and develop strategies to reduce its impact e.g., reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, fossil fuel and water consumption and GHG emissions.

* Apply knowledge of sustainability initiatives and deliver into the business

* Improve "reduce, reuse, recycle" / waste hierarchy controls throughout our UK sites to drive down our waste stream volumes

* Analysing energy data and reviewing the company's energy profile.

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills / qualifications / attributes:

Candidates must be passionate about sustainability, net aero ambitious, and career driven as this role has the potential to develop worldwide opening fantastic career opportunities. Applicants will be degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant sustainability or engineering topic, with a proven track record of achieving sustainability results within a similar role. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to deliver presentations and projects on time confidently.

Your Pay & Benefits:

Permanent job paying from £32,000.00 per annum plus annual bonus. The salary is negotiable please apply with your salary expectations. Full time role working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (alternative times would be considered on a fulltime basis) Permanent job with 33 days holiday (inc 8 bank holidays), contributory pension, healthcare & much more!
