DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking to add a Project Manager to join our growing Civil Engineering team in Alexandria, Virginia.  Our team guides clients through the entire life cycle of a project including site planning, design development, permitting, preparing construction documents, and construction services. 

Our Civil Engineering team works on a wide range of government and public infrastructure projects, including pedestrian trails, park retrofits, facility site design, site assessments, stormwater management and BMP design and inspections, erosion stabilization design and inspections, utility system improvements, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and more. 

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in the successful completion of these types of projects, as well as strong project management skills.  Below are critical qualifications and skills expected of a successful Project Manager:

  • Ability to identify project goals and objectives and develop a plan to achieve them.
  • Demonstrate experience analyzing site conditions and developing proposed solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate and think creatively.
  • Establish clear lines of communications with project team and with client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the Project Manager will include:

  • Collaborate with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, architects, landscape architects, planners, and other professionals.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for civil engineering projects.
  • Lead project delivery, including being responsible for technical design, project financial performance, scope and schedule management, and quality control.
  • Interact with internal and external clients to ensure project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Support business development including developing scope and price proposals.

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • PE in Virginia is required.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software.
  • Experience with Virginia and regional clients a plus.
