The City of Wilmington has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to manage a variety of stormwater capital improvement projects.  

This position will join the Engineering Department’s Project Management Division.  As a part of our team, you will provide professional-level support, technical evaluations and public outreach for drainage capital improvement projects while working closely with the Stormwater Services Manager. This position will be responsible for overseeing and performing project planning, technical analysis, design and permit reviews, consulting engineering and survey contract management, public relations, and construction management of stormwater capital improvement projects.  Typical projects include residential area drainage improvements that incorporate closed and open drainage infrastructure systems, easement acquisition, green infrastructure and water quality improvements, utility relocation, and street improvements.  

The Project Management position requires an individual that is highly motivated, has excellent communication skills, is team-oriented, and has construction administration and management experience. Experience with stormwater management engineering is preferred.

The City of Wilmington's Engineering’s Project Management Division serves as the City’s lead agent for design and construction of new public infrastructure and provides support for rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.  The mission of the Engineering Department is to promote public safety, sustainability, and a livable community.  The Stormwater and Streets Management Division of the Public Services Department is responsible for the City's public drainage infrastructure improvements, including field operations and maintenance, capital projects and the NPDES Stormwater Permit.  Please visit the Engineering Department and Public Services Department webpages to learn more!

Compensation & Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $66,638 to $86,632 annually and is dependent on the selected candidates' qualifications and experience.
